I just looked at some brochures I have from the Wedding show I went to in January, and one of them said they'll sell chair covers for $4.50 each! And for 200 people at the reception, that equals $900! I DON'T THINK SO!
Who cares if I even have them on my chairs??? Really???

I read your blog and your sisters' blogs all the time...was so excited to see you are engaged and getting married in 2010! Congrats! I was just looking at places to get married at in Sept 2010 and omg, I was surprised at how much everything cost! My top choice of a reception hall would be $37,500! So I have to keep on looking, but I live in the suburbs outside of NYC so everything is pretty much expensive which sucks! I look forward to reading about your wedding plans!

Depending where you have your reception, will the chairs need covers? $900 for chair covers - I agree with you in "I don't think so!!!!!"

skip em, you don't need em, unless your using folding chairs that are ugly.
Unless the chairs are rusty pieces of trash, nobody will care. They'll all be looking at you, anyway.
One of my pet peeves is the amount of money that is needlessly spent on weddings because some magazine, tv show, or wedding planner said it was the "in" thing.
Your guests will be there to see you get married and share your happiness. Very few would be able to tell you the next day what color the chairs were.
chair covers are ugly.
